The Mallorca white ceramic vase was born out of constant experimentation. First, we experimented with the material and organic shapes. We drew particular inspiration from the rocks along the coast of the Sierra de Tramuntana. Therefore, it is not merely a functional vessel.
This piece actually represents the geological power of our island. We achieved its dynamic texture by carefully shaping the clay. Finally, we used a reactive glaze that contracts or erupts during high-temperature firing.
Every peak and every valley on its surface is a unique mark of the handcrafted process. It is a piece that begs to be touched.
In terms of design, this white ceramic vase features an extremely textured surface; its shape has been specifically crafted to serve as a tactile canvas. The clay has been worked in our studio to create a solid base, onto which we apply the glaze thickly and unevenly, ensuring a voluminous and rough finish. Glazed in off-white and ecru tones, the shadows and depth of the texture are dramatically accentuated, making it resemble a fossil or a piece of sea coral recently found on the Mediterranean coast.
